For several days, Lily and Schammy spoke only about tasks. Beneath the short sentences was a hurt neither named. One evening they put down their phones, opened Colossians 3, and asked the Holy Spirit for a new conversation.

Colossians 3 calls us to put on compassion, humility, patience, and forgiveness as Christ forgave us. Matthew 18:15 shows that love can also name a wrong directly and privately.

Forgiveness does not call evil good, require instant trust, or force someone to remain in danger. Healthy reconciliation needs truth, repentance, boundaries, and often qualified pastoral or professional support.

Jesus carried our sin at the cross and rose to make all things new. We do not aim merely to win an argument; we seek to walk in His truth and grace. The Spirit can soften our tone without silencing truth.

Practice S.P.E.A.K.: Stop with Jesus, Preserve dignity, Explain concrete facts, Add a safe boundary, and Keep one next step. If abuse, threats, violence, or coercion exist, prioritize safety and qualified help; do not use a private conversation as a substitute for protection.
