At recess, Lily saw a new girl sitting by the fence. Everyone looked busy. Schammy wanted to keep playing, but he noticed her squeezing her lunchbox and looking down.
Lily remembered the Good Samaritan in Luke 10. Two people saw the wounded man and passed by. The Samaritan came close, cared for him, and shared what he had. Jesus ended with an invitation: go and do likewise.
Schammy could not fix the girl's whole life. He could walk over, say his name, invite her to play, and tell a safe adult if she needed help. That small step made room for Christ's love.
The Holy Spirit can open our eyes. He reminds us that every person was made by God and that Jesus welcomed children. Kindness does not mean keeping dangerous secrets or facing bullying alone; we can always get a safe adult.
Practice S.E.E.: Spot the person, Engage with kindness, and Enlist safe help. This week ask: Jesus, whom do You want me to see today?
